Alumni Card Policy for the Louis L. Biro Library
John Marshall alumni can access the Louis L. Biro Law Library through the use of an alumni ID card. Alumni can have an ID card created at the security desk outside the Bookstore on the 2nd floor. The security desk operates from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Graduates must complete an ID application and have an ID picture taken. The ID card is free. There is, however, a $10 replacement fee for lost cards. In addition to providing access to the Library, the ID acts as a copy/printing card. Alumni will need to have a valid ID to check out circulating materials.
Free Westlaw Access
Free Westlaw is now available to all alumni in the Louis L. Biro Library. Westlaw can be accessed during all hours that the reference desk is open. Stop by the reference desk to get your sign in information. The cost for printing from Westlaw is 15 cents per page. Our contract prohibits patrons from downloading or e-mailing Westlaw information.
Access to Library Database
The Library has 4 stand-alone desktop computers for alumni and CBA patrons to use for searching the Library's ever-expanding array of databases. In addition, the Library provides two desktop computers dedicated to quick e-mail access.
Guest Wireless Access in the Library
Library patrons now have limited wireless access while in the Library. Patrons with laptops can access the Library's guest network to access the Internet and also to search Library databases. At this time, printing is not available from the Library guest network. Access is provided for a 24-hour period and will require users to register for authentication purposes. Alumni can obtain daily registration information from the reference desk.
